This is a quote from Marianne Williamson's book "A Woman's Worth". It's a little piece of reality that makes me laugh. |
|
"Don't you love it when some incredibly beautiful woman like Linda Evans or Cindy Crawford tells us that the real beauty secret is finding your inner light? Right. But I've done the same thing these women have done to find my inner light, and while it's true I'm happier, I still don't look like them. The point is I never will, but I look the way I look, and how I look shouldn't be such an awfully big deal. It isn't for men, and it shouldn't be for us. It would behoove Americans to recognize that in other cultures the range of what is considered beautiful is much wider than it is in ours, as is the age range that defines physical beauty." |
|
Marianne has a way of making life seem so simple and she tends to get right to the point..... I think that's why I like her. |

Does God Still Speak To Us? |
|
A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had Shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?" After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different people talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God... If you still speak topeople speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey." As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. "Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk."It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street." This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh street. At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, I will". He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. "Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep |
and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here. " He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and tee-shirt. He |
looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?" The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hall way speaking loudly in Spanish. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk." His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I asked him to send an Angel with some.. Are you an Angel?" The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that |
God still answers prayers. |
This story was sent to us by a friend. It is a reminder that if we have faith, the Lord will provide. He does provide miracles when we need them and often we can not explain them. Listen to that "Still Small Voice we so often tune out...... you may be the next Angel sent by the Lord! |
|
The Lord does work in mysterious ways, and we are often his earthly angels fulfilling little miracles everyday. |

This is a little saying I heard that stuck in my mind, and I wrote it in my journal four years ago, to remind me that everyone is a saint some are strong and some are weak but all are trying ...... "And Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees, for he knows it's God he wishes to please." |
I have always believed that God is in our hearts and no matter whether we go to church or not, he's with us. We can choose to accept him or not that is up to each individual person. God is love, and as long as we have love, I believe we have God. |
The bible states in 1 John 4:7-13 |
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth of God. |
He that loveth not knoweth not of God; for God is love. |
In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. |
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfect in us. |
Hereby know that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his spirit." |
|
I am a firm believer that there is something more to life than what we have now. Surely, someone as great as God would not put us here and test us so much, for nothing. There has got to be something more, something grand perhaps, that is something that remains to be seen. Only those who have gone on truly know what is there. |
A selected few have gone on to see more and been able to return. These are special people that carry something wonderful with them. To know one of those blessed with this experience is to know a miracle, over the years we have met people who have experienced miracles. |
One gentleman we know was doing a marriage by proxy for his deceased parents when, a sister he had never met because she had died as an infant appeared in the room. |
He said, she was smiling with braided hair and a beautiful gown. She told him thank you for allowing her to reunite with their parents. This man told us the story years later and it still brought tears to his eyes. Life is full of many unexplained things but, the happy things are truly the greatest. |
Another lady told of seeing an angel who told her, her husband would do a great work. To this day he is doing a great work, as bishop of our church. Visions from beyond are rare and unexplained but, they bring comfort and happiness to those who experience them. |
I have other stories to share but wish to ask permission to share them first. |

"Children are the light of the world" I'm not sure who said this quote but, they are right. I do daycare and have for many years, sadly I see how money not children control peoples lives. The children are nice but ...... you can be important when you have money. |
Don't get me wrong a lot of the parents I have done daycare for, love their children more than anything. Sadly this is not always the case. For some they leave them here for hours on end, day after day becuase they are too busy. |
Some come when their parents are home because they have stuff to do! What stuff could you possible have to do that is more important than spending time with your child? People have children everyday and everyday there are more children who need love. |
How can you not have time to love your children? Do people understand that over the years children come to hate, |
a very strong word, their parents because they never had time for them. Over the years I have probably spent more time with peoples children than they have, some more than others. This to me is wrong, although I love them like my own |
if they don't know now, they will know later that I was not their mom. |
Everytime I see a parent treat their child like a puppy they bought at the pet store, that isn't a puppy anymore it breaks my heart. These kids deserve to be loved and cherished everyday, not just on show day. Show day is what I call days where parents dress their kids up and take them out to show them off. Fancy clothes and expensive toys are no replacement for parents. Giving in to everything they want because it's easier than dealing with it, will only work for so long. Children learn fast and they can learn to manipulate their parents very early in life. |
The expression "It's only daycare" makes me very angry. |
I can not believe that people take their children to a place that they say is only daycare. Daycare for many children is the parents, everything they learn is learned at daycare. For anywhere between nine and twenty two hours a day everything I do reflects on the lives of the children I care for. |
If I were to take the "It's only daycare" approach to my job I would hate to see the children that would result. |
I treat each child as if they were my own when they are here. I try to teach them the same values and lessons I have taught my own. I try to give each their own time and love. Love feeds their growth and gives them a strong base to build on. As much as I would like to be able to keep and protect them all from the world they face, sometimes it is not possible and I have to face the fact that they are not my children. As hard as it is I have to let their parents be their parents and keep my mouth shut. But here I can say what I like and at least have a say. For those parents out there who take their children to just daycare, please consider that just a babysitter is raising you child. I hope you give more value to your child's upbringing than this. True just a babysitter is cheaper in most cases but ...... really what kind of care are your children getting? The flickering blue babysitter can only teach them so much, they can learn good values or bad, you decide what it's worth. |
More and more women turn to daycare as a source of income each year. Many find that it is not as easy money as they think, daycare providers are hard working and face hard challenges everyday. What do you tell a child who has spent five days at your house, because his mother is going through yet another crisis in her love life, and can't handle him right now? To tell you the truth, I really didn't know. How do you explain to an eleven year old boy why his mother says she hates him? I heard that question everyday for seven months until I finally had to say the kids couldn't come anymore. The anger this boy possessed was coming out towards the younger children, and my job was to protect all of them. His mother had no time to deal with "that stuff", and anger that deep is not cured with a time out. |
Don't ever let someone tell you daycare is all roses and sunshine because it's not. You see neglect, abuse whether physical or other wise, and a whole lot of heartache. I love what I do but .... I hate what I see. I know to some this seems like rambling on but, if you have ever seen it you know what I'm talking about. Love the children for they are the light of the world ...... and without love the light will dim and eventually vanish leaving only darkness and dispare. |

"A woman is meant to hold the heart of the world within her hands. She must cater to it and minister to it and kiss it when it cries. We are meant to keep the home fires burning, the fires in our hearts. We are meant to prepare the food, the spiritual food of love and compassion. We are meant to care for the children, not just our own, but every child. When we do not recognize our cosmic function, our own hearts break, and so do the hearts of the world." |

The Lord has shown us the power of creativity and the potential it holds. He has created many wonders, rarely are any two alike. From bugs, trees, flowers, mountains, plains, deserts, oceans and seasons, his creativity never ceases to amaze. Creativity is a gift that once discovered, developed and shared can bring pleasure to those who give and those who receive. By feeding a child's creative wonder we are indeed increasing his or her potential. No person is more creative than another they are merely different. Each creator should share their talents to bless themselves and others around them....Creativity can add excitement, pleasure and beauty into your life. It can make you feel good about yourself and make someone else smile too! |

Here I would like to tell my children how much I love them. They are the light that shines bright in my heart, and I am very proud of the people they are becoming. As they grow and learn they teach me also. Each day brings new challenges and adventures, but together as a family we can jump any and all hurdles. I am very proud of Roddy for getting his first job and going out in -40 weather to deliver his papers. I'm proud of Sassy and Bobby, for going out right along side him to deliver flyers. Keep up the good work, and remember we love you! |
My husband is the light of my life and has been for 15 years. This past May we celebrated 15 years of marriage. |
He never ceases to amaze me with his talents. He has completed his college teaching job, but they have asked him back to teach three classes next year. He has also started his own limited company and is doing well with that. I support him 110% in all he chooses to do. Thanks Bunkin for letting me be me! |
